Stokehouse Wedding

I met Kat and David a month before their Wedding, we had a cuppa on my verandah, bonded over art and locked things in for the 4th of January!

My first of the year Wedding for 2020!

Kat and David wanted simple. This is the brief: They were not looking for “traditional” wedding photography, so no getting ready shots, no location shoot etc. Kat and David were looking for photos of the ceremony as well as casually posed and candid photos of themselves with friends and family at the reception. The reception was to be quite relaxed and low-key, with no speeches, cake cutting or first dance etc – just a party.

Easy!

It actually takes quite a knack to master this type of photography and with years of practise we feel we captured some fabulous images for Kat and David (even if I do say so myself!). It’s kind of like being a photography ninja, you blend into the background, use a variety of different lenses and watch, closely, and snap at the perfect moment someone laughs, a hug or maybe takes the Brides hand to have a close up peek of her ring.

The day started with a 3pm ceremony at the Brisbane Registry Office. Family photos with a view on top of the world. Followed by a causal relaxed party at the Stokehouse at Southbank.

Tim and I really had fun sneaking off with the couple to take some fun photos around the restaurant. David Wells is a local artist, based in West End and 100% appreciated and supported our desire to create some fun arty Wedding photo just because we could. New favourite Wedding photos below!!

Congratulations Kat and David, we had a great time getting to know you and being your Wedding photographers. Anna and Tim xo
